Hello, hello everyone!
Welcome back to my February reads of the month. I am back with another romance series review and two thrillers!
- The Fine Print, Lauren Asher (Book #1 of Dreamland Billionaires)
- Terms and Conditions (#2 of Dreamland Billionaires)
- Final Offer (#3 of Dreamland Billionaires)
- Never Life, Freida McFadden
- The Teacher, Freida McFadden
The Dreamland Billionaires series by Lauren Asher reminds me of Disneyland lol!! Everything about the story telling of the theme park, being held in Florida just makes you think that you are in Disneyland!
This is my first time reading Lauren Asher’s stories. I enjoy reading the grumpy X sunshine and forced proximity stories. Sometimes I feel like I am reading into my own life because I place my husband in the “grumpy section” and I, yours truly is the sunshine! Hahaha!
But in all seriousness, the series is about three brothers raised by their grandpa, whose father is present but was not a role model to them growing up. The brothers took care of each other and with the care of their grandfather, they grew up to whom they are now. However, their grandpa knew his grandkids needed more in life and a little motivation to step out of their comfort zone or should I say, what they have been afraid of this whole time.
I enjoyed reading the series, but my absolute favorite is the third book, Final Offer. Final Offer is the story of the youngest brother, Callahan Kane. Callahan aka Cal, had struggled with his dark past. Even with the help of his love of his life, Lana, was there beside him throughout the whole time, Cal had to trust himself in order to be trusted by others. Cal has gone a long way to prove himself worthy to himself, his family and to Lana.
Onto the thriller books by Freida McFadden.
Now, before I get started in reviewing the books, I love Freida’s books and enjoyed reading her stories. There are books that many of us prefers than others by many authors and the Teacher was definitely NOT my favorite from her whatsoever.
The Teacher was slow in the first half and did not pick up its pace or “thrill” until the second half. I felt that this story should not have been written in two sections. I felt that there were a lot of unnecessary sections that did not need to be part of. The second half did redeem me by not deeming the book as DNF. Even though this was not my favorite, I recommend for you to read it and take it for a grain of salt. You may enjoy more than I do.
Never Lie is my number one favorite book from Freida. Never life had my heart and mind racing from start to finish. In all honesty, in my humble opinion, this is the definition of a true thriller novel. In Freida’s novels you gain to hate a character (at least I did lol ). This is the first book of hers that I did not hate a character and wanted to finish in one setting. I highly recommend reading this novel first by Freida. It sets the bar of thriller reading.
